Air Vice Marshal Frank Ajobena (Rtd.), former Military Administrator of Abia State and a member of the Delta State Security and Peace Advisory Council, has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his commitment to fulfilling campaign promises. According to Ajobena, Oborevwori is effectively using the MORE Agenda to drive progress in Delta State, particularly in infrastructure and environmental development.
Speaking from his country home in Mereje, Okpe LGA, Ajobena praised the Governor’s efforts in tackling environmental challenges in Warri and its environs. He noted that Oborevwori has initiated significant road infrastructure projects and awarded contracts for two flyovers to Julius Berger, a globally recognized construction company.
To further accelerate economic growth, Ajobena advised the Governor to invest in energy supply projects, now that energy is on the concurrent legislative list. He also emphasized the importance of reviving the Songhai Farm in Amukpe, Sapele, to train aspiring farmers in modern agricultural practices before providing them with inputs such as tractors, fertilizers, and machinery instead of direct cash loans.
On national security, Ajobena called on the federal government to adopt ranching as a sustainable solution to the ongoing farmers-herders conflict. He also weighed in on the political crisis in Rivers State, criticizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for interfering beyond constitutional limits.
Ajobena urged the private sector to complement government efforts in job creation, while also calling on Nigerian workers to adopt a more responsible attitude to sustain businesses and investments in the country.
