GOVERNOR ODODO MEETS WITH FAMILIES OF THE LATE KABBA/BUNU HUNTERS

….donates funds to families for children upbringing

His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has strongly condemned the heinous act of killings of the two hunters in Kabba/Bunu, Mr Peter Oladele of Illah Bunu and Mr Segun Jato of Okebukun Bunu who lost their lives in the process of assisting the state to get rid of criminal elements in Kogi State.

The governor made this assertion on Saturday when he paid a condolence visits to the bereaved families in Illah Bunu and Okebukun Bunu respectively.

Commander Jerry Omodara, the State Security Adviser who represented the Governor during the visits, expressed the Governor’s sadness and shock over the tragic incident, stressing that it is disheartening and unfortunate.

Omodara expressed the Governor’s condolences to the families, friends, associates and communities affected by the appalling act of violence, as such violence have no place in our society.

He also called on other hunters not to be discouraged, but rather renewed their strength to fight insecurity, and ensure that the perpetrators of such incidents are brought to book.

He equally urged security agencies and the Kogi State Vigilante Service to swiftly take decisive actions, and thoroughly investigate this heinous crime, and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice. Such acts of violence cannot be tolerated, and every effort must be made to hold the perpetrators accountable for their actions. He stated.

Commander Omodara implored the traditional institution and community heads, to continue to assist in the areas of credible informations that will help security agencies, noting that Kogi is not a place for criminalities.

He reiterated the state government’s commitment in ensuring that Kogi remains safe, and that the Government of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State will consolidate on the security templates of the New Direction government of Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, the immediate past Governor of Kogi State. He said if criminals come in their hundreds, they will go back in their zero. He submitted. Governor Ododo equally gave the sum of One Million Naira to each of the wives of victims and bags of Rice. According to him, they should start business with it to be able to take care of their Children.

In company of Commander Omodara were: Hon (Barr). Dare Zaccheous Michael, the Caretaker Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government, Mr Jimoh Oloruntoba, Kabba/Bunu Hunters Leader, amongst many other personalities and security agencies.
