GOVERNOR ODODO REAFFIRMS DEDICATION TO COLLABORATE WITH TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS FOR STATE’S PEACE, DEVELOPMENT

The Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has reiterated his administration’s unwavering dedication to collaborating with the Traditional Institutions for the peace and development of the state.
The pledge was made during his address at the Lokoja Day celebration, where the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Umar Yusuf, was turbanned as the Badakoshi of Lokoja at the palace of the Maigairi of Lokoja.
Representing the governor, the Deputy, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu, emphasized that the administration of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is resolute in its partnership with the traditional institution to further enhance peace and infrastructural growth across the state.
He emphasized the government’s steadfast commitment to ensuring equitable representation of the populace, evident through the eradication of insecurity, prompt disbursement of salaries to civil servants at both state and local levels, as well as pensioners. He stated that these efforts, combined with numerous ongoing developmental projects across the state, shows the administration’s positive trajectory.
Govonor Ahmed Usman Ododo highlighted that in response to the prevailing hardships faced by the people, the present administration has consistently provided palliatives, relief packages, and Agricultural materials to the populace.
He urged the traditional rulers and the people of the state to collaborate and bolster the government in its quest to enhance the peace, progress, and development of the state. He reminded them that Kogi is their only home, calling for continued unity and unwavering support for the administration’s success.
Governor Ododo took the opportunity to inform the people resident at the river banks to consider relocating to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps designated by the present administration. He maintained that the relocation is vital to safeguard both lives and properties of the people in anticipation of the predicted high levels of flooding by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET). He gave the assurance that the government is fully prepared to ensure the safety and welfare of the well-being of the people at the 42 established IDP camps in the state.
