GOVERNOR ODODO USMAN CHARGES THE NEWLY SWORN IN COMMISSIONERS, OTHER POLITICAL APPOINTEES ON SINCERITY IN DISCHARGE OF DUTIES.

The Executive Governor of Kogi State Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has charged the newly sworn – in commissioners and other political appointees in the state to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity as they have been called to serve and they are to serve without fear or favour.
His Excellency gave this charge on Wednesday 31st January, 2024 in Glass House, Government House, Lokoja during the swearing-in of the political appointees in the state.
His Excellency emphasized that the commissioners and other appointees were carefully selected based on professionalism and competence.
“We are expected to hit the ground running for a new era in the development of the state. You should be ready to discharge your duties creditably without fear or favour, because it is our collective responsibilities to move the state forward. The immediate past administration, led by Governor Yahaya Bello, has laid down formidable foundation for us to follow and it is expected of us to consolidate on those achievements to further move the state to enviable heights.” Governor Ahmed Ododo said.
His Excellency urged all of them to give their best and work harmoniously as a team with one another,
Promising to be honest, transparent and probity in rendering selfless service to Kogi People to justify the mandate given to him during the last governorship election.
The Executive Governor used the medium to appreciate the good people of Kogi State and other stakeholders for their unwaivering support before, during and after the election and urged them to unite in the interest of peaceful coexistence of the state.
“Kogi State is blessed with enormous potential and we can only harness them if we are living as one indivisible entity. This administration is your government and you should all pray for the success of this administration. We can not build a house and destroy it, that is why I am appealing to you and seeking your sincere support to enable us serve you to the best of our ability,” His Excellency declared.
In an earlier exercise, the Solicitor General, Barrister Falilat Musa performed the swearing – in ceremony by administering the oath of office, oath of allegiance and oath of secrecy on the new Commissioners and other appointees where Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo was reappointed Commissioner for Information and Communications.

Barr Muzi Yinus Abdullahi – Attorney General & Commissioner for Justice.
Engr Mohammed Abdulmutalib – Commissioner for Rural and Energy Development.
Barr Salami Ozigi Deedat – Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Dr. Adams Abdulaziz – Commissioner for Health.
Haj. Fatima Momoh – Commissioner for Women Affairs.
Mr. Abanika Taye – Commissioner for Urban Development and Housing.
Mohammed Muktar Shuaibu – Commissioner for Commerce and Industry.
Engr Mohammed Yusuf – Commissioner for Works.
Haj. Rabiatu Okute – Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs.
Hon. Timothy Ojoma – Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security.

Speaking on behalf of other commissioners, Barrister Salami Deedat Ozigi expressed appreciation to the Governor for appointing them to serve under the current administration. On behalf of Commissioners, he pledged to be hardworking, loyal, obedient and transparent in all their dealings.
