Governor Umaru Bago Visits Sarkin Ibelu-Ibeto Palace
As part of his tour of Magama Local Government Area (LGA), Governor Umaru Bago visited the palace of Sarkin Ibelu-Ibeto, Mukhtar Hussaini Aliyu. The visit aimed to engage with the community, address their concerns, and assess ongoing projects in the region.
During the meeting, local leaders, including the LGA chairman, the State House of Assembly member, and other stakeholders, talked about pressing issues disturbing the community such as the condition of the central mosque and schools.
In response, Governor Bago gave the following instructions:
1. The Magama 5km road project awarded by the state government, will be allocated within Ibeto.
2. Additional road projects in Nasko and Salka will be executed in subsequent phases.
3. The governor has on behalf of the state government donated ₦100 million to complete the 12yrs abandoned central mosque project in Ibeto.
4. While encouraging individuals to contribute generously, he clarified that the state government would not settle any existing debts related to the mosque.
5. The Secretary to the State Government was instructed to restore electricity to Ibeto within 6weeks. The community has been without power for nearly a decade.
6. The governor directed Niger Foods to expedite the completion of the Ibeto dam to facilitate dry-season farming.
7. All the Schools previously shut down due to insecurity will resume on Monday.
8. He also donated the sum of ₦5million for furniture and other essential materials needed to open the school immediately.
9. The governor finally tasked the state assembly member, council chairman, and the federal constituency representative to make sure the palace of the Sarkin Ibelu-Ibeto is completely renovated within 3months.
