Guber Poll: Despite Social Media Brouhaha, West Senatorial District will deliver to APC – Kogi Speaker
By Sunday Ajayi – Lokoja
Ahead of the November 11th Governorship Election in Kogi State, the state Assembly Speaker, Rt Hon Matthew Kolawole has said that despite the social media brouhaha, electorate in the west senatorial district of the state will vote en-mass for the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The State number one Lawmaker made this known yesterday during the consultative visit of the APC governorship candidate, Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman to the palace of Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Area Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Solomon Dele Owoniyi.
He noted that for them as members of the APC in the zone, they don’t have any agenda different from Kogi APC agenda, stressing that those clamoring for sectional agenda are only more pronounced on the social media.
He appealed to the traditional rulers that the zone cannot afford to return to the opposition party, hence he urged them to embrace the APC since the party already has a President Elect in Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu that will be sworn in few days to come, pointing out that no other party can help the area than the APC.
He assured the people that the zone will also have the opportunity of producing the Governor of the state after Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman.
The governorship candidate, Alh Ododo, expressed appreciation to the monarch for his invaluable contributions to the development of his domain and Kogi State in general, assuring that the place of traditional institution in governance will never be relegated when he gets elected as the Executive Governor of Kogi State.
While responding, the Obaro of Kabba who is also the Chairman of Okun Traditional Council, prayed for a successful outing for the APC and its candidate in the governorship election.
He assured Alhaji Ododo of his support and prayers, adding that he (Ododo) is eminently qualified to take the baton of leadership from Governor Yahaya Bello who he said has done well in areas of security and infrastructural development.
