Guber Poll: NNVS presents award to Kogi East APC Chieftain Mikail
The Nigeria National Volunteer Service, (NNVS) Diaspora Affairs, has given an award of uncommon outstanding performance to MD/CEO of Sumikh Energy and Agro Ltd
Hon. Mohammed Suleiman Mikail in recognition of his sacrifice and loyalty in the 2023 governorship election in Kogi State.
Presenting the award to the All Progressive Congress, (APC) chieftain in Lokoja, the State Coordinator of NNVS Comrade Ibrahim Itodo disclosed that the awardee distinguished himself from other political gladiators in Kogi East Senatorial District to enable the ruling party win the Governorship election in the State.
Itodo recalled the role played by Hon. Mikail for former Governor Bello to continue his second term in office.

According to him, ” Hon. Mohammed Suleiman Mikail is a Man who has continued to match his words with action. I would recall vividly in 2019 where 23 opposition candidate were contesting against the reelection of former Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State. Then, our award recipient was the Governorship Candidate of Zenith Labour Party.
“He dropped his Governorship ambition, canvass for support from opposition party to see reasons why former Governor Bello should continue for a second term in office. They all listen to him and support the then Governor to succeed in that election.
He supported his party APC to the core , . What else can we describe a patriotic party Man who continue to remain selfless for APC to move forward in Kogi State.
“It is on record that, the November 11 Governorship 2023 election is one of the most highly contested election in the history of Kogi State between the East, West and central”
The NNVS Coordinator, however, disclosed that, the association was signed into law by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2020.
“The idea is to close the gap between poorest of the poor in Nigeria and many more. NNVS is saddled with the responsibility of tapping from volunteers across the world” he stated.
Responding, the awardee Hon. Mikail commended the organizer for finding him worth of the award.
He expressed appreciation to the people of Kogi East, former Governor Yahaya Bello and the present Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for the trust given to him to contribute his own quota for the success of APC in Kogi State especially in the last Governorship election.
“I am dedicating this award to the good people of Kogi State and Nigeria in general. To my political mentors Alhaji Yahaya Bello and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, you both have continue to protect the light of our dear State on a positive note. I promise to do more for our party and I won’t disappoint the trust that has been bistowed on me since I joint this party” Mikail stated.
