HDHTAN commends Gov. Ododo for enhancing Ease of Doing Business in Kogi

HDHTAN commends Gov. Ododo for enhancing Ease of Doing Business in Kogi

Days after the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, bar Road transport unions from daily collection of Levies on the road,
Heavy Duty and Haulage Transportation Association of Nigeria (HDHTAN) Kogi State Chapter, has Commended the Governor for ensuring ease of doing Business in the State, through strategic reforms.

Speaking with Journalists in Lokoja on Friday, the Chairman of HDHTAN
In Kogi State, Chukwuma Trust,
express appreciation to Governor Ododo, for his bold initiative to eradicate multiple taxations, illegal revenue collection, and roadblocks in Kogi State.

According to Chukwuma, the decision of the Governor, aligns with his organization’s partnership with the Federal Government to implement Presidential Order 001, aimed at enhancing the ease of doing business on all Nigerian roads. “We commend the Governor’s commitment to creating a conducive business environment and improving the lives of Kogi State residents.

He added that HDHTAN in Kogi State Chapter is willing to partner with the Governor to ensure the success of this initiative, saying that they will whistleblow on any organization or individual contravening the Governor’s directives, which include dismantling of roadblocks and stopping illegal and multiple taxations.

“As a critical stakeholder in the logistics and supply chain management sector, our objectives include: Enhancing Road Safety, Reducing the number of accidents involving heavy-duty vehicles in Kogi State, Promoting Ease of Doing Business and Supporting the governor’s initiative to eradicate multiple taxations, illegal revenue collection, and roadblocks.

In Addition, the group said it’s also interested in Improving Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Optimizing the movement of goods and services in Kogi State and avoiding diversion of goods and products.

The group noted that achieve these objectives, they will need to,
Collect daily biometric data of all heavy-duty vehicles in Kogi State to provide security reports and prevent the diversion of goods, Monitor and Evaluate Tracking progress, identifying challenges, and adjusting strategies to achieve objectives.

He said the Association will Collaborate with relevant authorities, such as the Office of the State Security Advisor, to the state government and other security agencies in intelligence sharing and to ensure the successful implementation of HDHTAN’s objectives, to Educate the public on HDHTAN’s activities, objectives, and the importance of safe and efficient logistics and supply chain management.

“We are pleased that the Governor’s initiative will lead to a significant reduction in food prices, enabling low-income families to afford necessities. We also remind our members to conduct their operations professionally, avoiding any form of revenue collection from inspecting Kogites and other road users, as we are not a revenue-generating organization

We believe that this partnership will have a positive impact on the economy of Kogi State and the nation at large. We look forward to working closely with the Governor and other stakeholders to achieve our shared objectives.
