Hon Juwon Olorunnipa aka Jumabee Bags Music Icon of the Year, Dedicates Award to Late Father

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Arts and Culture in Kogi State, Hon. Juwon Olorunnipa, popularly known as Jumabee, has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to the music industry with the Music Icon of the Year award by Democracy Newsline Newspaper.
This prestigious award was presented at the 15th Annual Public Lecture and Awards Ceremony, themed “Role of Independent Media Organizations in Promoting Participatory Democracy and Good Governance in Nigeria,” held at the National Merit House in Maitama, Abuja.
Speaking at the event, Jumabee expressed his gratitude for the recognition, noting that he did not take it lightly, especially coming from a reputable organization like Democracy Newsline Newspaper, which has consistently demonstrated excellence in its work over the past 15 years.
He praised Governor Usman Ododo for appointing him as the youngest Special Adviser on Arts and Culture in the country, pledging to continue carrying out his assignment diligently.
Jumabee also acknowledged the former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, who believed in him and appointed him as Senior Special Assistant on Entertainment. This role, he said, helped him leverage his position among his peers.
The Music Icon of the Year award is a testament to Jumabee’s hard work and dedication to his craft. He dedicated the award to his late father, showcasing his humility and appreciation for his roots.
Other notable personalities honored at the event include Hon. Yetunde Adeniji, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Home-Grown School Feeding Programs; Barrister Benjamin Ikani, former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Kogi State; and Col. Abayomi Dare (Rtd), a retired Director in the Department of Legal Services, Nigeria Military.
Jumabee’s achievement highlights his dedication to his craft and his impact on the music industry, promoting the rich culture of Kogi State. His commitment to his work and his community is an inspiration to many.
He dedicated the award to his late father, an astute politician and community leader, Hon. Phillip Olorunnipa.
