by Akin Fanodun, Kabba

Hon. Mayowa Idris, popularly known as Egbelechi, demonstrated his commitment to grassroots development and welfare-oriented initiatives by attending the 60th birthday thanksgiving ceremony of Rt. Hon. Mathew Olushola Kolawole, the immediate past Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly.

The event, held at Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke-Igbala Ayeteju District, Kabba, was a celebration of life and service, and also a platform for impactful social outreach.

A major highlight of the event was the empowerment program for widows and widowers, a humanitarian effort reflecting the values of compassion and inclusiveness championed by Rt. Hon. Kolawole

Hon. Idris commended him for his outstanding service to Kogi State and his enduring legacy of leadership.

In his remarks, Hon. Idris called on fellow leaders and stakeholders to prioritize social responsibility and continue supporting initiatives that directly benefit the people.

He emphasized the importance of celebrating leaders while they are alive and supporting causes that reflect the heart of true leadership.

The event drew dignitaries from across Kogi State, religious leaders, political allies, and community members, all gathered in gratitude and solidarity.

Hon. Idris’s gesture reaffirms his reputation as a bridge-builder, community advocate, and visionary leader whose influence extends beyond politics into real and lasting impact on the lives of the people.
