Hon. Mohammed (Ayuba Nana) Convenes Strategic Security Meeting to Address Challenges in Ankpa, Olamaboro, Omala

 

In a proactive response to escalating security concerns, Hon. Ayuba Nana, Zonal Security Adviser to the Governor of Kogi State, convened a high-level security meeting yesterday being 14 February, 2024 at the Ejeh Palace in Ankpa. The meeting aimed to forge a unified strategy to enhance safety across the Ankpa, Olamaboro, and Omala constituencies.

Key stakeholders in attendance included Caretaker Chairman Olamaboro LGA, Hon. Amen Williams; representatives from the Ankpa Area Command, Navy, DSS, DPOs of Ankpa, Omala, and Olamaboro; SIB; drug law enforcement; Ankpa Community Leader, Civil Defense Commanders from the three LGAs; state vigilante leadership; and other local vigilante groups.

The meeting emphasized the severity of the current security situation and the necessity for swift, collaborative action. Hon. Nana underscored Governor Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo’s unwavering commitment to finding lasting solutions to the challenges faced by the constituencies.

He stressed the importance of the Ankpa Police Area Command working closely with local vigilantes and hunters, acknowledging their valuable insights into the activities of kidnapping groups. Olamaboro LGA, specifically Inele, Ogugu, and Ette Road, were identified as critical hotspots requiring urgent attention.

In a gesture of solidarity, the Ejeh of Ankpa, HRH Alh. Abubakar Sediq Ahmed who also double as the Chairman Ankpa Traditional council of Chiefs, represented by Onu Ojoku, HRH Alh. Muhammed Ogbe, expressed his gratitude and pledged full support for initiatives aimed at restoring peace and security to the region.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from all participants to implement robust security measures. A strong emphasis was placed on collaboration and information-sharing to safeguard the well-being of residents within the Ankpa federal constituency.
