Hon. Ochada Hails Hon Halims Emergence As Deputy Majority Leader Of The HoR

The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Kogi State Governor on Youth Empowerment (Kogi East), Hon. Matthew Ochada (HMO), has congratulated the member representing Ankpa/Omala/Olamaboro Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Halims on his emergency as the Deputy Majority Leader of the House.

“I wish to heartily congratulate Hon. Halims who is coming with immense experience and wide-range expertise that will benefit the 10th Assembly and advance the development of our dear nation,” Hon. Ochada said in his congratulatory message, Wednesday morning.

The SSA noted that, at this crucial time in our nation’s political history, when the people need a Parliament that will further improve on the legislative accomplishments of the 9th Assembly and work for the people, a legislator like Hon. Halims with vast experience and impressive credentials, is well-suited for the role of Deputy Majority Leader. He also said he is optimistic that the legislator will guide and shape the national discourse, representing the interests of his party, his constituents, and the nation at large.

Hon. Halims’ emergence was announced by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dr. Abbas Tajudeen, at the resumed plenary sitting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday July 4. The New Deputy Majority Leader who is a second-term member of the House of Representatives, succeeds Hon. Peter Ohio Akpatason, a fourth term member representing Ako-Edo Federal Constituency of Edo State.
