Hon. Zacchaeus Dare Celebrates Women of Kabba/Bunu LGA on International Women’s Day
Kabba/Bunu, Kogi State – The Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Hon. (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael, has celebrated the women of the local government on the occasion of International Women’s Day, emphasizing the importance of bridging the gender gap and recognizing women’s contributions to society.
Speaking on Saturday, March 8, 2025, Hon. Michael reaffirmed the local government’s commitment to empowering women and promoting their participation in leadership and decision-making roles.
He highlighted the significant investments made in initiatives designed to foster self-sufficiency, leadership, and economic participation among women.
“We must ensure we continue to record growth across all facets of our society. Celebrating women isn’t just the right thing to do, recognizing their immense contributions and impact is necessary for growth and sustainable development,” he said.
Hon. Michael noted that the occasion underscored the urgency of addressing persistent inequalities and barriers that hinder women from realizing their full potential.
He called on stakeholders, government, civil society organisations, the private sector, and individuals to work collaboratively in accelerating the actions needed to close the gender gap.
