HONOURABLE COMMISSIONER FOR AGRICULTURE RECEIVES KOGI STATE CATTLE SELLERS ASSOCIATION.
Kogi State Government says it will continue to cater for the interest of the cattle sellers/rearers in the state.
The Kogi State commissioner for Agriculture, Hon Timothy Ojomah,gave the assurance while receiving the chairman of the Kogi State Cattle Sellers Association Adamu Abubakar in his office in Lokoja.
Hon. Ojomah said that the Yahaya Bello led administration appreciates their role in supporting the government and charged them to be optimistic and have faith in the government in making sure that the forthcoming election is free, fair and credible.
Speaking further,the Hon Commissioner said that a bill which will take care of the security of herders and sellers in the state is still in process and once it is passed into law will serve as a guide in ensuring that the association is being taken care of.
The Hon Commissioner urged citizens to be law abiding by maintaining peace and unity in the state.
In his response, the chairman of the Kogi State Cattle Sellers Association Adamu Abubakar congratulated the Hon Commissioner on his appointment by the Executive Governor of the state His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello. He said that the association has members in the 21 Local Governments who
have been working with the previous administration to ensure that Cattle Sellers are included in government.
He stated further that the cattle sellers association is ready to work with the government to ensure a peaceful election in the state appealing to the government to help them curb insecurity and protect their livestock.
