Honouring Chief Patrick Adaba, A Cherished Friend and Ally of the Audu Political Family for his Service to Kogi State
I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Chief Patrick Adaba, who passed away at the age of 79, on Sunday, March 9, 2025 in Abuja, after a protracted illness. An illustrious son of Kogi State whose career was dedicated to the service of the state when he served as Deputy Governor to my late father, Prince Abubakar Audu from May 29, 1999, to May 29, 2003.
Although constricted with grief at this time, I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Chief Patrick Adaba, who left us at a difficult time as we continue to put them in our prayers.
Gone but not forgotten; we will continue to remember the late Mr. Patrick Adaba for being more than just a Deputy Governor to Prince Abubakar Audu but an ally who was instrumental to the remarkable development that transformed our state during their tenure. His vision, dedication, and support not only contributed to the progress of Kogi State but also left a lasting legacy that will be felt for generations to come.
I remember the passion and commitment both he and my father shared in their work, and I hope his family finds comfort in knowing how deeply he impacted so many lives.
He was a man who shared in the vision of a modern and economically vibrant Kogi State anchored on its abundant resources for prosperity and sustainable development as Deputy Governor.
He was an accomplished and impactful politician and will be remembered for his peaceful leadership disposition, generosity, and substantial contribution to the development of Kogi State.
I also extend my heartfelt condolences to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, and the entire people of the state.
May Almighty Allah grant him Aljanah Firdaus and grant us all the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
With deepest sympathy,
Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu
Honourable Minister of Steel Development
