IJUMU PDP MOURNS OLAIYA MICHAEL OLOBATOKE (OMO)
The People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) in Ijumu Local Government of Kogi State, has commiserated with the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Area Traditional Council, HRM, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi, the Olobatoke’s family and the entire people of Owe land, particularly the PDP family, over the sudden demise of Hon Olaiya Michael Olobatoke, Popularly known as OMO.
Olaiya Olobatoke, who was the House of Representative’s candidate of the PDP in the last National Assembly election, passed on in the early hour of Wednesday.
A statement of by the party’s spokesperson for the Local Government, Pastor Stanley Ajileye laments the death of OMO, which according to him, is coming at the time the state, the nation and particularly the people of Kabba-Bunu and Ijumu Federal Constituency need the erudite politician most.
The statement described Olobatoke as a grassroot politician, who, within his short life-span as a political actor and business individual, touched a lot of lives.
The death of Olaiya Michael Olobatoke, according to the party, is a devastating blow on the rank of the party’s leadership at a time the party is bracing itself up for the coming November gubernatorial election.
The party says the dynamism of Olobatoke will be greatly missed, as he was a right-hand person to the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Senator Dino Melaye.
The PDP condole with Oba Owoniyi, the chairman and the entire leaders and members of People’s Democratic Party in Kabba-Bunu, as well as the family of Olobatoke, praying God to give to them all, the fortitude needed for a time like this.
