Ijumu Stakeholders Task New Caretaker Chairman In Uniting Citizens

Stakeholders in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State have charged the newly appointed Caretaker Chairman of the Local Government, Alh. Haruna Ibrahim to unite sons and daughters of the Area irrespective of their religion or political background.

They gave the charge at the reception organized in honour of the Caretaker Chairman shortly after his swearing in.

A Frontline Politician in the State, Chief Abiodun Ojo in his remarks enjoined the Chairman to see his appointment as a call to serve the people of Ijumu Local Government meritoriously as they expected more from him.

Chief Ojo, who congratulated Alh. Haruna on his appointment which he described as well deserved, noted that the tasks ahead of him are enormous and demands focus and dedication.

He commended those that had interest in the Chairmanship appointment for demonstrating the highest level of sportsmanship and solicited for the support of all in the Area to move the Local Government forward.

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC in Kogi State,, Chief APS Arogundade on his part pledged his support to the new Caretaker Chairman and expressed optimism that he will not let the people down.

Chief Arogundade also expressed appreciation to the State Governor, Alh. Yahaya Bello for finding the appointee worthy of the appointment, saying the appointment is a New Dawn for the Local Government.

Also Speaking, the Director General Ododo/Joel Campaign Council in Kogi West, Hon. Funsho Olumoko lauded the large turn out at the reception, assuring of his resolve to work with the Chairman for the peace and development of the Local Government.

The Caretaker Chairman, Alh. Haruna Ibrahim expressed gratitude to Gov. Bello for finding him worthy of the appointment, promising to justify the confidence reposed in him.

According to Alh. Haruna, his mission is to build a New Ijumu that will be an envy of all and expressed his readiness to carry everyone along in the scheme of things.

He also promised to change the narrative of leadership in the Local Government, assuring of his resolve to ensure improved security of lives and property in the Area.

The Reception was attended by the immediate past Commissioners of Environment, Chief Victor Omofaiye, that of Special Duties, Comrade Ade-Ismail, former Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Taofiq Isah, Executive Secretary of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Adekunle Aledare, members of the Abiodun Ojo Political family, party faithfuls among others.
