Ipinmisho to Flag Off Massive Empowerment Programme for Ijumu Oke, APC Family in Ogidi

By Our Correspondent

The Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Land Matters and Olukoko Arolupotopoto of Ogidi Kingdom, Very High Chief Shuaib Ipinmisho, is set to flag off a massive empowerment and community outreach programme aimed at supporting residents, farmers and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ijumu Oke.

The programme, scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, will take place at the Community Civic Centre, Ogidi, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Tagged “Empowering Constituents for a Greater APC, a Better Ogidi Community and Ijumu Oke,” the initiative is expected to benefit more than 300 people through cash grants, food items and agricultural inputs.

According to a statement issued by the media team of Chief Ipinmisho, the programme is designed to provide direct economic relief to residents while supporting small businesses, farmers and vulnerable households across the community.

Under the empowerment initiative, deserving beneficiaries will receive ₦100,000 cash grants to expand their businesses and trades, while more than 200 other individuals, including beneficiaries from outside the ward, are expected to receive ₦50,000 each to cushion the effects of current economic challenges.

The outreach will also include the distribution of rice to several households as well as essential farm inputs to support farmers and contribute to food security in Ijumu Oke.

Chief Ipinmisho described the initiative as more than a material intervention, saying it was also intended to inspire hope and demonstrate continued commitment to the people.

“This gathering is not just about sharing resources. It is about sharing hope. It is about reaffirming our commitment to the people who are the true strength of our party and our democracy,” he said.

The Special Adviser also expressed appreciation to the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for what he described as his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development and inclusion.

He particularly commended the Governor for mobilising contractors back to site on the Asaya-Ogidi-Ayere Road, which he described as the “economic lifeline” of the people.

Ipinmisho further thanked Governor Ododo for his appointment as Special Adviser on Land Matters and for providing opportunities for sons and daughters of Ogidi and Ijumu Oke to serve in government.

He, however, appealed to the Governor to consider more qualified and loyal party members from Ijumu Oke for appointments, saying such appointments would further strengthen the relationship between the government and the people.

The APC chieftain also used the occasion to call on party members and supporters to mobilise massively for APC candidates in forthcoming elections.

He urged the people to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and Hon. Salman Idris, while endorsing Hon. Femi Esemikose for Ijumu 1 and Rt. Hon. Tayo Adeleya Ishaya for Ijumu 2 in the Kogi State House of Assembly.

For the forthcoming local government elections, he canvassed support for Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna as Chairman of Ijumu Local Government and Hon. Musa Ipinmisho, Esq. as Councillor for Igbolaere/Ilaere Ward.

“We must vote APC from top to bottom. From President to Governor, to House of Representatives, to State Assembly, to Chairman and Councillor. That is how we secure total victory and total development for our people,” he said.

Ipinmisho further advocated continued support for Governor Ododo, linking such political continuity to his vision of positioning an Okun candidate to eventually become Governor of Kogi State by 2032.

The programme, according to the organisers, is being facilitated through Chief Ipinmisho’s personal resources, business ventures, support from friends and associates, as well as contributions from prominent individuals, including Asiwaju Olatunji Olusoji and Dr. Femi Fashagba.

The organisers invited APC leaders, elders, women, youths, farmers and members of the general public to attend the empowerment and community outreach programme.
