Izere People Showcases Culture as Gyese Day Observed.

The rich and beautiful culture of Izere people was during the weekend presented in a grant style in Gyese, also known as Tudun Wada District of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state.
Gyese which means a place surrounded with bamboo trees is one of the nine Districts of Jos Izere Chiefdom of Jos North Local Government Area.
The Gyese Day is an annual Cultural Celebration of the Izere People.
People from the nooks and crannies of the District and beyond attended the event.
The villages of the district includes Katon Agyese, Ikukumung, Rimado (Mado) Gorfan and many other villages that made up the District.
The District Head of the Area, Adagwom Peter Inyam, flanked by the District Heads of Kabong, Jos Jarawa, Furaka and Rikkos/Kwanga blessed the Youths and their entire subjects for sustaining the yearly event that afford the Izere people to showcases their rich culture and willing to bequeath it to the younger generations.
According to the Paramount Ruler, Izere people are welled cultured and civilized, urged them to unite and live in peace with everyone.
The Amanta which is a form of dance by women, were presented with a trophy won during a dancing competition early this year, at the competition were among the various dancing groups in Izere land, during Ikoos Izere Celebration.
The AYM Chairman of Gyese, Comrade Arin Atang said they are determined to promote the Culture of Izere people in Gyese and beyond, they are also building a community hall that will serve as a meeting point for the people to gather for their social gatherings.
Highlights of the event was the presentation of various dances by different groups such as Asharwa and Amanta.
There was opening of dishes and unveiling of the plan for the construction of the Hall by the Chairman of the occasion, Hon. Daniel Asama, Member representing Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency who was ebly represented by his Senior Legislative Aid, Hon. Ajik Amos Ajik, other dignitaries includes, Rt. Hon. Isah Madaki Ajiji, Deputy Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, represented by his aid, Hon. Azi Manu, AYM National President, Azi Luka Itse, represented by His Vice, Azi Aware Peter, Hon. Danjuma Azi, Liaison officer to the Governor, Councillor Representing Tudun Wada ward, Hon. Philip Israel Isha, AYM Chai, Jos North Branch, Chairman Elect AYM Jos North, Comrade Atsen Yakubu and other dignitaries.
They all pledged their support to ensure the completion of the project.
The Newly Elected officials of the Afizere Cultural and Community Development Association (ACCDA) Gyese Branch, where sworn in by Barrister Paul Izam, a legal Practitioner in Jos.
The Oath Commissioner charged the leaders to uphold the oath they took and discharge their duties effectively and efficiently.
Earlier in his acceptance speech, Chairman of Afizere Cultural and Community Development Association ( ACCDA) (Gyese (Tudun) District, expressed his appreciation to God Almighty, His EXCO and all the guests who came out to support and celebrate with them, appealed to the people to reunite, wine and dine with one another.
The event was well attended by Izere and non Izere alike to catch the glimpse of their eyes of the Izere Culture.
