JAMB 2025: Kwara’s Jimoh Abdulmalik Emerges 3rd with 373 as Board Announces Top Performers
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the top performers in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with Okeke Chinedu Christian from Anambra State emerging as the highest scorer with 375 out of 400.
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ish-aq Oloyede, made the disclosure on Tuesday during the 2025 Policy Meeting held in Abuja. He revealed that Okeke chose the University of Lagos (UNILAG) as his first-choice institution, where he intends to study Mechanical Engineering.
Trailing closely behind is Ayuba Simon-Peter John from Gombe State, who scored 374. Ayuba selected Afe Babalola University (ABUAD) as his preferred institution, also opting for Mechanical Engineering as his course of study.
In third place is Jimoh Abdulmalik Olayinka from Kwara State, who scored 373. Like Okeke, he also selected UNILAG and intends to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
A notable trend among the top three candidates is their shared interest in Mechanical Engineering, a discipline that continues to attract some of Nigeria’s brightest science minds.
Another observation from the 2025 results is that all top scorers are male, reflecting a continued gender disparity in top performance within science-based UTME categories.
