JAMB 2025 UTME Registration Dates Announced: Everything You Need to Know

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the dates for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration and examination.

This announcement marks a critical step for students seeking admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions. Here’s everything you need to know about the registration process, deadlines, and key dates to stay ahead.

JAMB 2025 Registration Dates

The 2025 UTME registration will begin on January 31, 2025, and end on March 5, 2025.

This six-week window gives candidates ample time to register through accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers nationwide.

Early registration is strongly advised to avoid the last-minute rush and potential system issues. –

For candidates applying through the Direct Entry (DE) route, registration will commence on March 10, 2025, and close on April 7, 2025.

Who Can Register?

The UTME is open to all eligible candidates seeking admission into universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

Prospective candidates must meet the following criteria:

Minimum Age: Candidates must be at least 16 years old at the time of registration.

Educational Qualification: A minimum of five credits in relevant subjects, including English and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB examinations.

Mock Examination Dates JAMB will organize an optional mock examination as part of its efforts to help candidates familiarize themselves with the Computer-Based Test format.

While the exact date for the mock exam is yet to be announced, candidates interested in participating must indicate this during their registration.

The mock exam is not mandatory but is highly recommended for first-time UTME candidates or those unfamiliar with the CBT format.

UTME Main Examination Dates

The 2025 UTME is scheduled to begin on March 8, 2025.

This gives candidates just enough time after the registration period to prepare adequately.

JAMB advises candidates to ensure they are well-prepared for the examination and to check their exam schedules and centers promptly once released.

Steps to Register for JAMB 2025 UTME

To register for the 2025 UTME, follow these steps:

Create a Profile: Log on to the JAMB e-facility portal at www.jamb.gov.ng to create a profile using a valid email address and phone number.

Obtain Your NIN: Candidates must have a National Identification Number (NIN) to register. If you don’t have one, visit an approved NIMC center to enroll.

Purchase an e-PIN: Buy the UTME e-PIN from JAMB-approved banks, online payment platforms, or designated POS centers.

Register at an Accredited CBT Center: Complete your registration at any JAMB-accredited CBT center. Ensure your biometric data is captured and your passport photograph uploaded.

Indicate Mock Exam Preference: If you wish to take the mock exam, notify the CBT center during registration.

Registration Fee The total registration fee for the JAMB 2025 UTME, including the e-PIN, reading text,

Charges (without Mock) is N7,200, UTME with Mock UTME is N8,200, Direct Entry fee is N5,700 and Trial Testing Mock only (for underage candidates) for N3,500.

 

“Candidates will not pay any money as service charge to any CBT centre,” This amount must be paid at approved outlets to guarantee a valid registration.

Avoid the rush by registering early in the process. System delays and congestion often occur as the deadline approaches.

Double-Check Details: Review all personal and academic information entered during registration to avoid errors that could affect your admission process.

Use Accredited Centers Only: Ensure you complete your registration at JAMB-approved CBT centers to prevent fraudulent transactions or invalid registrations.
