Just In: Gov Yusuf Sacks SSG, Chief Of Staff, 5 Commissioners
Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has implemented a significant cabinet shake-up, dismissing the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief of Staff, and five commissioners, while reassigning several others.
The Chief of Staff, Alhaji Shehu Wada Sagagi, had his office scrapped, and SSG Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi was removed on health grounds. The decision, announced by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, is aimed at enhancing administrative efficiency and delivering better governance.
Some commissioners retained their positions, including those for Justice, Agriculture, and Health, while others, such as the Deputy Governor, were reassigned to new portfolios. Five cabinet members, including commissioners for Finance and Information, were dismissed but directed to report to the governor’s office for potential reassignment.
This reshuffle reflects Governor Yusuf’s commitment to aligning his administration with the goals of improving governance and ensuring optimal service delivery to Kano State residents.
