Kabba Day 2025: A Celebration of Unity and Progress – KDU President- General, Alhaji Zakaria Ejibunu
The President General of Kabba Development Union (KDU), Alhaji Zakaria Ejibunu, has called on the community to come together to complete the Kabba Civic Centre, a landmark project that will serve as a hub for economic, social, and cultural activities.
Speaking at the Kabba Day 2025 celebration, Ejibunu emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in overcoming challenges facing the community, particularly insecurity.
The theme for this year’s celebration, “Together Against Insecurity: Building Peace and Strengthening Bonds,” highlights the need for collective action to address the security challenges hindering growth and development in the area.
Ejibunu pledged to pursue initiatives that will uplift the community, including programs in education, health, security, youth empowerment, and cultural promotion.
He said, the Kabba Development Union has been working tirelessly to complete the centre, and the current budget for the project is ₦500 million.
The completion of the centre is expected to boost economic activities in the area and provide a platform for the community to showcase their cultural heritage.
Alhaji Ejibunu commended the outgoing administration of Engr. Emmanuel Ajibero for their efforts in elevating the profile and status of the union.
He also expressed gratitude to the governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ododo for his support and intervention in resolving internal conflicts within the union.
The event was attended by prominent traditional rulers, including the represrntatives of the governor, HE, Oyibo Salifu, Kogi West senator, Sunday Karimi, Chief Mrs Toyin Omole, the Obaro of Kabba, and chairman Okun Area Traditional Council, who is the host, Oba Dr. Solomon Dele Owoniyi, the Ohinoyi of Ebira land, HRM, Tajjani Anase, HRM Oba Muyiwa Ibeun, Elulu of Mops, etc praised the union’s efforts in promoting peace and development in the community.
