Abuja, Nigeria – The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly led a high-powered delegation of state lawmakers to the National Assembly in Abuja to witness the swearing-in of Hon. Rabiu Shu’aibu Gano as the new member representing the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

The colourful ceremony took place in the Green Chamber of the House of Representatives after all constitutional and legal requirements validating his election had been duly completed. The oath of office officially marked the commencement of Hon. Gano’s legislative responsibilities at the federal level.

The presence of the Kano State House of Assembly delegation underscored the strong spirit of unity, cooperation, and institutional support between the state legislature and Kano’s representatives at the National Assembly. Their attendance also symbolized solidarity with the people of Dawakin Kudu and Warawa, who have now regained full representation in Nigeria’s lower legislative chamber.

Speaking after the swearing-in ceremony, political stakeholders described the occasion as a significant milestone for the constituency, expressing optimism that Hon. Gano’s entry into the House of Representatives would strengthen the voice of his constituents in national policymaking and legislative deliberations.

As a fully inaugurated member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Rabiu Shu’aibu Gano is expected to immediately begin carrying out his constitutional duties. These include sponsoring bills and motions, participating in debates on national legislation, serving on parliamentary committees, providing oversight of government institutions, and advocating for policies and projects that will improve the welfare of the people of Dawakin Kudu and Warawa.

Observers believe that effective representation at the National Assembly will enhance opportunities for the constituency to benefit from federal development initiatives, infrastructure projects, educational programmes, healthcare interventions, youth empowerment schemes, and other socio-economic opportunities that accompany active legislative engagement.

Hon. Gano is also expected to work closely with other members of the Kano State caucus in the National Assembly to advance legislative initiatives that promote the state’s development agenda, attract federal investments, improve public infrastructure, and support programmes capable of creating jobs and improving the living standards of citizens across Kano State.
The swearing-in ceremony attracted a distinguished gathering of government officials, federal and state legislators, political leaders, traditional stakeholders, party supporters, and well-wishers, all of whom congratulated the newly inaugurated lawmaker on assuming the important responsibility of representing the people of Dawakin Kudu and Warawa Federal Constituency.

The event marked not only the beginning of a new chapter in Hon. Rabiu Shu’aibu Gano’s political career but also renewed hopes among constituents for responsive leadership, effective representation, and accelerated development through active participation in Nigeria’s legislative process.
