KENW COMMENDS NIGERIAN ARMY FOR ENHANCING SECURITY IN KOGI EAST

The Kogi East Neighbourhood Watch (KENW), a community policing non-governmental organisation, has commended the 12 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Lokoja, for its sustained efforts in improving security across Kogi East Senatorial District.

In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of KENW, Dr. Omakoji Oyiguh, and the organisation’s Secretary, Isaac Husseini Inna, the group expressed appreciation to the Brigade for its coordinated security operations, which it said had brought significant relief to residents, communities, and travellers using major highways within the district.

According to the statement, the prompt and professional responses of the Brigade Commander and his troops have contributed immensely to restoring public confidence and reducing security threats in the area.

“The usual prompt and professional responses by the office of the Brigade Commander, 12 Brigade Nigerian Army, Lokoja, deserve special mention and commendation,” the statement noted.

KENW further praised the leadership style of the Brigade Commander, describing his personal involvement in field operations as exemplary.

“Residents and communities have witnessed the presence of the Brigade Commander personally directing and supervising operations in different locations at various times, much to their admiration and relief. Such dedication to duty is commendable and reassuring,” the statement read.

The organisation added that officers who demonstrate such commitment, patriotism, and professionalism remain invaluable assets to the nation’s security architecture.

“Officers of your calibre, dedication and patriotism are rare in the Nigerian Army and, indeed, within the broader Nigerian security architecture. Your leadership has inspired confidence among the people and strengthened the resolve of communities to support ongoing security efforts,” KENW stated.

The group noted that the improved security situation in parts of Kogi East had enabled residents to go about their lawful activities with greater confidence, while commuters had also benefited from enhanced safety along critical road corridors.

KENW assured the Nigerian Army of the continued support and cooperation of the people of Kogi East in the collective fight against criminality and insecurity.

“Residents and communities in Kogi East will continue to pray for good health, courage and wisdom for the Brigade Commander, officers and troops of the 12 Brigade, as well as the entire Nigerian Army,” the statement added.

“Once again, we sincerely thank you for your sacrifices and unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property. Be assured of the support and cooperation of the people of Kogi East as you continue to discharge your constitutional responsibilities.”

The organisation also urged residents to remain vigilant and continue providing credible information to security agencies to sustain the gains already recorded in the region.

KENW reaffirmed its commitment to promoting community policing initiatives and fostering stronger collaboration between citizens and security agencies to achieve lasting peace and security across Kogi East and beyond.
