Kidnappers Abduct 60-Year-Old Woman from Kano Hospital

By Bala Salihu Dawakin Kudu

February 23, 2025

A disturbing incident unfolded at the Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital Dawanau in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area (LGA) of Kano State, as suspected kidnappers abducted a 60-year-old woman, Talatu Ali, on February 19, 2025. The victim had arrived at the hospital with her son, Nasiru Aliyu, and her cousin, Aliyu Garba, from Yar Gaya Village in Dawakin Kudu LGA, for a medical consultation.

According to sources, Talatu was last seen waiting for her consultation when she mysteriously went missing. Her family, unable to locate her within the hospital premises, immediately raised an alarm and launched efforts to search the facility. However, their attempts to find her proved unsuccessful.

With no trace of Talatu at the hospital, her family reported the abduction to the Dawanau Divisional Police Headquarters. Authorities are now investigating the incident, as they continue their search for the elderly woman. The community remains in shock over the alarming crime, with many expressing concern about the growing number of kidnapping cases in the region.

As the investigation progresses, the family of the victim is desperately hoping for her safe return.
