A prominent People’s Democratic Party Senatorial Aspirant during the 2023 election, Otunba Niyi Olayemi has described himself as a forerunner to several PDP Leaders in Kogi West who would join the ruling All Progressives Congress in the weeks ahead. The PDP Stalwart and renowned leader with large followers made this assertion while receiving in his Abuja mansion, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Kogi State on Civil Service and Labour Matters who double as the Director General of the Ododo Mandate Group, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi, Otunba Niyi Olayemi says his movement out of PDP was borne out of conviction and need to use government to better the lives of his people the more, he said he has been a member of the opposition party because of the belief that PDP could retake her steps back to reckoning but expressed deepest disappointment on how the party have continued to fall below expectations because of avoidable anti Democratic sharp practices, he queried why an opposition party would continue to allow impunity, lawlessness and undemocratic practices to continue to dominate their activities.
Otunba Niyi Olayemi says PDP has shown lack of readiness to compete as a credible alternative but is still being manipulated by same personalities that caused her downfall. He said he chose to cross to APC in order to realize his vision of giving back to his people through empowerment, job security and usual welfare he is known for. He expressed confidence that he is just a forerunner into the APC, assuring that his teeming followers and stakeholders who shares his Political belief across the seven (7) LGAs of Kogi West will join him in their large numbers very soon.
Otunba Niyi Olayemi commended Governor Yahaya Bello for his youth inclusiveness in politics and giant strides in area of securing, education, health and women empowerment. He promised to support the government to succeed and also support the gubernatorial Candidate of the party, Alh Ododo Ahmed Usman to succeed in November 11th election.
He further commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his decisions so far a the President, he expressed confidence in the ability of the President to deliver Nigeria away from years of the locust and backwardness. He said Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu posses the Democratic credentials, antecedents and exposure a Nigerian President of this generation requires.
While making his speech, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Civil Service and Labour Matters, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi who is the guest expressed appreciation to Otunba Niyi Olayemi for finding it worthy to join the APC at this time in our political history. Omoluabi described Otunba Niyi Olayemi as a political giant who is known for empowering the young people and supporting the poor. Omoluabi says Otunba Olayemi’s entrance into APC is a great morale booster to the party in Kogi West, he described him as a patriot, outstanding politician and successful businessman whose impact in the lives of his followers remain indelible.
Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi assured his host of giving him and his teeming followers equal opportunity as the old members of the party.
