Kogi Counts Gains as BOI Establishes Office After 30 Years

Chief Economic Adviser and Investment Promotion Officer to the Kogi State Government , Nda Aliyu Salami, has lauded the establishment of a Bank of Industry (BOI) office in the state after over 30 years, describing it as a major milestone in the economic development of the state.

Salami noted that the physical presence of the Bank of Industry in Kogi marks a giant stride towards unlocking the economic potential of the state and empowering its people through increased access to finance, entrepreneurship support, and job creation.

According to him, “the decision by the Bank of Industry to establish an office in Kogi State after more than three decades is a major achievement for the state. It opens new opportunities for our small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), startups, women-led ventures, and youth-driven innovations to access finance and expand their impact.”

He further disclosed the economic benefits of the move, including job creation, investment stimulation, infrastructure financing, and community development, stressing that the initiative will strengthen the productive capacity of businesses in the state and promote a diversified economy.

“This aligns perfectly with the vision of His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, whose administration is committed to inclusive growth, sustainable development, and industrialization.

The presence of BOI will fast-track business expansion, reduce poverty, and improve the standard of living of our people,” he added.

Salami emphasized that the Kogi State Government remains committed to collaborating with the Bank of Industry to ensure that the benefits of the office are felt across all senatorial districts of the state.

He commended the leadership of BOI for recognizing Kogi as a hub of emerging opportunities and expressed optimism that the office will drive transformation in key sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, and renewable energy.
