Kogi Decides 2023: Jibrin Warns Politicians Against Employing Youths For Electoral Violence

By Muhammad Amuda – Lokoja

Ahead of Kogi Governorship election scheduled for November 11th, 2023, former Chief of Naval Staff and Accord Party Governorship flagbearer, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin (rtd) has warned politicians against employing youths for political violence in the forthcoming election, adding that the state already has enough security challenges.

Jibrin gave this warning in a statement he personally signed a copy of which was obtained by DemocracyNewsline in Lokoja on Sunday.

The former Naval Chief also advised youths not to allow themselves to be used by politicians to cause violence and disharmony.

He said, “As we go into the governorship campaign, please wisely play the game. Avoid using our children and grandchildren as propaganda and abusing them and trying to make them do what we know is wrong.

“And for the youths, please avoid being used as thugs and arbitrators of disharmony and violence in the state.” he advised.
