KOGI, FG KICK OFF 2027 HEALTH SECTOR OPERATIONAL PLAN IN OKENE AS COLLEGE PROVOST PARTICIPATES
San. Umar Anataku Shaibu joins stakeholders to chart strategic direction for Kogi’s health sector
The Provost of the Kogi State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Idah, San. Umar Anataku Shaibu, has joined other critical stakeholders at the ongoing four-day 2027 Health Sector Operational Plan (H-SOP) meeting taking place in Okene, Kogi State.
The strategic meeting, involving the Kogi State Government and the Federal Government, brings together key actors within the health sector to review progress, identify challenges and develop practical operational strategies for improved healthcare delivery across the state.

The four-day engagement provides an opportunity for stakeholders to align priorities, strengthen coordination and formulate programmes that will support the effective implementation of the state’s health-sector objectives for 2027.
Speaking on the importance of the meeting, the Provost emphasized the need for continuous collaboration among government institutions, health training institutions and other stakeholders in building a stronger and more responsive health system.
“As a health training institution, we understand that the quality of our healthcare system is strongly connected to the quality and capacity of the health workforce. We are therefore committed to supporting government efforts through quality training, capacity development and strategic collaboration.”
San. Umar further noted that the College of Health Sciences and Technology, Idah, remains committed to producing competent and professionally equipped health personnel capable of contributing effectively to healthcare delivery at the grassroots and beyond.
The participation of the College at the 2027 H-SOP meeting reflects its growing role in health-sector planning and its commitment to aligning its academic and professional training programmes with the evolving healthcare needs of Kogi State.
The meeting is expected to produce actionable strategies and priorities that will guide the implementation of health-sector programmes across Kogi State in 2027.
