Kogi Launches Campaign Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Substances Use.
The Office of the Senior Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor On Drug Rehabilitation has launched the campaign against the menace of prohibited drugs and it’s abuse among youths and addicted individuals in the state.This was made known in Lokoja on Sunday by the Senior Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor On Drug Rehabilitation Comrade Richard Otitoleke.
The Campaign, according to the Comrade Richard is borne out of the passion and determination of the State Governor His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and the First Lady Hajiya Sefinat Ahmed Ododo to help the youths find their ways back to a more responsible life styles that support their dreams and to be productive.
“The State Governor has determination to ensure that this deadly menace of drug abuse is urgently curtailed,the wides spread of hard drugs and it’s abuse has caused severe damages, especially to the younger generation and we must all rise to the occasion and give adequate attention to support the government to realize this objectives”
Comrade Richard stated further that the efforts put in place to fight this societal ills(drugs) by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is unprecedented and cannot be seen in any other states in Nigeria.
“Today,the governor has appointed about six or more aides with a matching order and we are all working with synergies in line with that directives,with other stakeholders such as the NDLEA to make Kogi a point of reference in terms of curtailing the menace of drugs abuse and trafficking”
