Kogi: ODA hails establishment of Military outpost in Egbe, Commends Senator Sunday Karimi

A Socio-cultural group,
Okun Development Association,
hailed the establishment of a Military Forward Operating Base (FOB), in Egbe to curb insecurity in Kogi Western Senatorial District.

President General of ODA Amb. (Chief) Akenson Rotimi gave the commendations in a statement on Saturday.

The group, which is the umbrella body of Yoruba speaking People of Kogi State, felicitates with President, Bola Tinubu, Nigerian Armed Forces, Kogi State Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo; Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja and the entire People of Kogi West Senatorial District, on the auspicious occasion of the handover of the Newly Completed Military Forward Operating Base (FOB), in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area, Kogi State to the Nigerian Army by the

He noted with nostalgia the performances put up so far by Senator Karimi at the red chamber shows that the people of Kogi West made the right choice, urge him to continue in the light.

He recalled with consternation and deep concern that over the years, apart from the general insecurity in Okunland, the frontier communities bordering Kwara and Ekiti States have witnessed several violent incursions by armed gangs, leading to the loss of innocent lives and properties, closure of banks and other businesses in parts of Okun Land.

“ODA therefore welcomes with relief the establishment of a military outpost (Forward Operation Base) in this flank of Okun Land as the right step in reinforcing the security architecture of our Land.

“The ODA looks forward to the stationing of similar security posts in other places where armed
criminals have become a recurrent presence and a threat to the lives and livelihood of our people” he stated.
