The Kogi State Open Government Partnership (OGP) Joint State Steering Committee and Technical Working Group (TWG) Co-Chairs during their meeting on Thursday, adopted and approved the OGP Secretariat’s Annual Plan, aimed at achieving 100 percent implementation of the last lap of State Action Plan (SAP) for the 2024–2026 cycle.
The meeting, which brought together key government and civil society stakeholders, featured extensive deliberations on the draft annual plan.
Participants carefully reviewed the proposed activities, timelines, and responsibilities, leading to strategic modifications that strengthened the document and aligned it more closely with the objectives of transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance.
Following these engagements, the revised plan was unanimously approved.
The approval of the annual plan marks a significant milestone in Kogi State’s OGP journey and sets the stage for coordinated and effective implementation of SAP commitments.
It reaffirms the State’s resolve to deepen open governance reforms, in line with the commitment of the Executive Governor of Kogi State to fully deliver on the OGP agenda for the benefit of all citizens.
Co- chairs of commitment areas as contained in the SAP document also made use of the engagement opportunity to provide reports and update on the implementation of the commitments thus far.
In summary, it was noted that progress is being made but more attention is required by heads of MDA’s to ensure 100 percent achievement as promised by His Excellency the Executive Governor of Kogi State.
