Kogi pilgrims in Madina, embarks on visit, (Ziyara) to historical sites
Pilgrims from Kogi state on Friday embarked on visitation ( Ziyara), to some historical sites in Madina as part of their religious obligations in the holy land of Saudi Arabia.
The places visited includes;
Masjeed quba, Mount Uhud and
Qiblatain.
The officials took out time to enlightened the pilgrims about the historical importance of those places, during the visit.
According to history, the Quba Mosque in Madinah holds immense significance as the first mosque built by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) after his migration from Makkah. The Prophet himself was said to have participated in its foundation, laying the first stones, while his companions completed its construction.13 Mar 2024
The mount Uhud was the site of the second battle between the Islamic prophet Muhammad and the polytheists of his tribe of Quraysh. The Battle of Uhud was fought on 19 March, 625 CE, between a force from the small Muslim community of Medina and a force from Mecca, in north-western Arabia.
The Masjid al-Qiblatain, is a mosque in Medina believed by Muslims to be the place where the final Islamic prophet, Muhammad, received the command to change the Qibla (direction of prayer) from Jerusalem to Mecca.
The Kogi State Amirul Hajj for 2024 Hajj exercise,Justice Siyaka MomohJimoh Usman, the Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Hajj Commission, Sheikh Lukman Abullahi and other officials were part of the visits.
