Kogi Poly Rector Commends Governor Bello for Workable Succession Plans

By Fancy Media Team (FMT)

The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr Salisu Ogbo Usman has commended Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for evolving workable and inclusive succession plans for continued development of the state.

Dr Usman gave the commendation recently in Lokoja in an exclusive interview with Fancy Media Team (FMT), where he rolled out the unprecedented developmental strides of the current administration in the state.

The Rector who adduced the rapid development rate of Lagos State to the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, said such feat is feasible in Kogi State if the succession plans as evolved by Governor Yahaya Bello through Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman (OAU) is meticulously implemented.

While calling on the people of Kogi State to truly appreciate Governor Yahaya Bello for his unmatchable love for his people especially during burning national issues like the naira redesign policy and COVID -19 saga, Dr Usman who reminisced his criticism against the first tenure of Governor Bello said the Governor has done more than what he was agitating for in the area of education, security and human capital development.

“In my opinion, Governor Yahaya Bello has managed his succession plans very well unlike his predecessors who were cowed into adopting selfish benchmarks in choosing their successors against the development of the state.

“Governor Bello has a fantastic outing all through his tenure and Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman (OAU) has been a resourceful member of the kitchen cabinet of the Governor for the past seven years. Alhaji Ododo is definitely not coming to learn on the job, I believe he already has the required public sector experience needed to expeditiously consolidate on the gains of the present administration”, he said.

The Rector who reiterated that Kogi is an APC state having had wonderful outings in the last presidential, senatorial and state assembly elections, expressed optimism that no section of the state would like to get disconnected from the national political grid by voting opposition parties in the forthcoming governorship election.

“We understand the value of people in politics and that’s why we try to make impacts at the grassroot as appointees of the government. The New Direction Administration has reduced employment rate, out-of-school children and built world class health care centres. This is the template which Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman would follow when he assumes office next year by God’s Grace”, he said.
