Kogi Security Adviser, Jerry Omodara, Hails Nigeria at 64, Harps on Unity, Peace and Commitment
The State Security Adviser to Kogi State Government, Commander Duro Jerry Omodara (rtd), has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of Nigeria’s 64th Independence anniversary.
Jerry Omodara, in a statement made available on Tuesday in Lokoja through his Media Office, urged Nigerians to further ensure and pray for the unity of the country, stressing that nothing can be achieved by a disunited people.
He noted that the occasion calls for deep reflection on the sacrifices made by our past heroes to secure the freedom and sovereignty of our dear nation.
He added that no nation is perfect, and that it can only be made perfect by all and sundry, noting that the country requires everybody to be committed to nation building.
He stressed that Nigeria is the only nation we can call our own, and we owe ourselves a sense of responsibility to be proud and to uphold this day in high-esteem in the history of Nigeria, considering all griefs, pains, labours and sufferings of Our Reroes Past went through to achieve us the long awaited freedom called independence.
He urged that as Nigerians commemorating the independence anniversary, it should be devoid of sentiments, violence and vices while subjecting ourselves to the law of the land. He stated further to urge Nigerians to be vigilant and security cautious, while emphasizing on the need of timely delivery of informations to security agencies.
Finally, he enjoined Nigerians, and particularly Kogites to keep their areas clean and urged those living in coastal areas and community prone to flooding to be at the alert.
