Kogi SSA Excel Onuche David Debunks Death Rumour, Threatens Legal Action Over Fake Report

Hon. Excel Onuche David, Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Sensitization and Mobilization to Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, has debunked viral reports claiming he is dead, insisting he is “alive, hale and hearty.”
In a rejoinder dated June 23, 2026, Onuche said he was inundated with calls after some media platforms, including _ThisDay_ and _Vanguard_, published stories alleging his death.

*“Let me state unequivocally that this report is false, reckless and malicious,”* he declared. *“By the grace of God, I am alive, hale and hearty, and fully engaged in my duties.”*
The SSA described the publication as “shocking and irresponsible” for being released without verification. He said the baseless report caused unnecessary distress to his family, friends, associates, and well-wishers.
Onuche demanded the immediate removal of the false publication from all platforms and called on those responsible to stop further dissemination.
He also gave the outlets 24 hours to issue a full retraction and unreserved public apology.
“Failure to comply will compel me to take appropriate legal action against all parties involved in the publication and spread of this defamatory falsehood,” he warned.
The aide thanked those who reached out in concern and reaffirmed his commitment to serving Kogi State under Governor Ododo’s administration.
