Kogi State Government Cracks Down on Illegal Chieftaincy Stool Creation

The Kogi State Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has issued a stern warning to Emmanuel Dauda Shelika, restraining him from parading himself as Etsu Nupe, Lokoja, and creating a new chieftaincy stool without authorization.

According to the ministry, Shelika’s actions are unlawful, pose a threat to peace and public order in Lokoja, and contravene the Chiefs Law of Kogi State, 2006.

The ministry has directed Shelika to immediately stop using the title and engaging in related activities, cautioning that failure to comply will result in legal consequences.
