Kogi State Local Government Services Commission, Hon. Adabenege Adams to Receive Award for Exemplary Public Service Leadership

ABUJA, Hon. Adabenege Adams, Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Local Government Service Commission, has been selected to receive the prestigious award for “Exemplary Public Service Leadership, 2026” by Democracy Newsline Newspaper
The award recognises Hon. Adams’ outstanding commitment to civil service reforms, staff welfare, and institutional strengthening across the 21 Local Government Areas of Kogi State.
Under his leadership, the Commission has prioritized capacity building for local government staff, prompt processing of promotions and retirements, improved discipline, and deployment of personnel to enhance service delivery at the grassroots. His administration has also been commended for promoting transparency and accountability in the management of local government human resources.
Announcing the honour, the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of the Newspaper, Chief Olugbemi Femi, said Hon. Adams was nominated for his dedication to repositioning the local government service for better performance.
“Hon. Adabenege Adams has demonstrated exemplary leadership in public service. His reforms have restored professionalism, boosted morale, and ensured that local government administration in Kogi State is more responsive to the needs of the people,” Chief Femi stated.
The award will be presented on Wednesday, 19th August, 2026 at 5:00pm during the Democracy Newsline Newspaper 16th Public Lecture and Induction into the Good Governance Hall of Fame holding at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja.
The event marks the 27th Anniversary of Uninterrupted Democracy in Nigeria and is themed: “Economic Reform and Sustainable Development in a Democracy: The Nigeria Experience.”
A keynote address will be delivered by Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris, FCA, Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Kogi State.
Chairperson of the occasion is Chief (Mrs) Moji Makanjuola, Veteran Broadcaster.
Special Guest of Honour is Hon. Mohammed Idris, Honourable Minister, Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
Patron is HRH Akogun Isiaq Ajibola, Former MD/CEO, Daily Trust Limited.
Grand Patron is Hon. Durosinmi Meseko, Former Member, Federal House of Representatives.
