Kogi State Police Command Strengthens Ties with Government, pays courtesy visit to Governor Usman Ododo
In a bid to enhance security and promote community development, the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
According to the press statement signed by the State Command Public Relations Officer, CSP William Ovye Aya, and made available to newsmen in Lokoja.
The meeting, which coincided with a visit by the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), focused on strengthening collaboration between the state government and the police command to ensure peace and security in the state.
During the visit, CP Kankarofi commended the Governor for his continued support to the police and other security agencies in the state. He briefed the Governor on recent security initiatives, crime-prevention strategies, and upcoming community-policing programs.
The Commissioner also highlighted areas of mutual interest, including intelligence sharing, synergy among security agencies, and joint efforts to curb violent crime in the state.
Governor Ododo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to backing law-enforcement agencies and pledged full support for the implementation of security policies aimed at maintaining law and order in the state.
Both leaders expressed optimism that the partnership would foster a safer, more prosperous environment for the citizens of Kogi State.
The meeting underscores the importance of collaboration between the government and security agencies in promoting peace and security in the state.
