Kogi State Signage and Advertisement Agency Cracks Down on Unauthorized Billboards

Kogi State Signage and Advertisement Agency Cracks Down on Unauthorized Billboards

The Kogi State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KOSSAA) has issued a stern warning to business owners in the state, urging them to regularize their billboards and advertisements or face penalties.

According to a statement released by KOSSAA, the agency will remove all unauthorized billboards and impose penalties on owners who fail to comply with the agency’s rules and regulations.

The agency is also alerting business owners to beware of fraudulent individuals claiming to collect payments for signage advertisements, emphasizing that all payments should be made directly to KOSSAA.

Additionally, KOSSAA has guidelines for political parties and aspirants, requiring them to obtain permission before erecting campaign materials. Failure to comply will result in removal and possible legal action.

Business owners and individuals are advised to update their billboards by October 30, 2025, as KOSSAA plans a massive raid to remove illegal billboards after the deadline.

The Kogi State Signage and
Advertisement Agency (KOSSAA) is strongly warning business owners in the State against illegal and unauthorized billboards.

– *Unauthorized Billboards*:

Kogi State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KOSSAA) is warning business owners and the public against erecting or displaying billboards without permission.

The Agency will remove all unauthorized billboards and will impose penalties on owners who fail to comply with the Agency’s rules and regulations.

– *Fraudulent Assessments*:

KOSSAA is alerting business owners to beware of fraudulent individuals or entities claiming to collect payments for signage advertisements and mobile advertising. All Payment in this regard should only be made to KOSSAA.

– *Guidelines for Political Advertisements*:

The agency has guidelines for Political Parties and Aspirants, requiring them to obtain permission before erecting or displaying campaign materials. Failure to comply will result in the removal of the billboards/ banners and legal action will be taken against anyone that violated these guidelines.

– *Reporting Unauthorized Activities*:
