Kogi West Backs Senator Karimi, Disregards Hon Alfred Bello’s Statement – Group
A group of stakeholders from Kogi West has come out in support of Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, dismissing a statement attributed to Hon. Alfred Bello, Director-General of the Okun League of Progressive Elites.
The statement had purported to dissociate the people of Okunland and Kogi West from Senator Karimi’s remarks at the 2025 Kabba Day Celebration.
In a press statement signed by Comrade Abiodun Sunday, Secretary of Concerned Stakeholders For Justice and Unity in Kogi West l, described Hon. Bello’s statement as baseless and not representative of the views of the people of Okunland and Kogi West.
They emphasized that Senator Karimi, as the elected representative of the people, has the right to speak on matters affecting his constituents and the state.
The stakeholders praised Senator Karimi’s commitment to unity, fairness, and peaceful coexistence among all ethnic groups in Kogi State.
They described his statement at the Kabba Day event as a “sincere and patriotic call for justice, equity, and balanced participation in the political development of the state.”
The group urged the public to disregard Hon. Bello’s statement, characterizing it as the opinion of an individual seeking political relevance.
They reaffirmed their support for Senator Karimi, describing him as a symbol of integrity and a democrat committed to equity and justice.
