Kogi West Group Urges APC to Issue Certificate of Return to Senator Karimi
The Sunday Steven Karimi Progressive Movement has called on the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, to issue the Certificate of Return to Senator Sunday Steven Karimi as the rightful winner of the Kogi West APC Senatorial Primary.
In a press statement signed by the group’s Coordinator, Hon. Abdulganiyu Abdullahi, leaders, youth, and women of Kogi West said the people had spoken clearly in the primary election and their mandate should be respected without delay.
Abdullahi appealed to Prof. Amupitan, a son of Kogi West, to demonstrate commitment to fairness and justice by defending the rights of the people.
“Prof. Amupitan is a proud son of Kogi West. We call on him to prove his commitment to fairness and justice by defending the rights of his people. The APC leadership must stand with the masses and elders who came out in large numbers to vote for Distinguished Senator Sunday Steven Karimi,” he said.
“The people of Kogi West have spoken clearly. Senator Sunday Steven Karimi won the primary election, and we urge all political leaders to speak the truth and respect the outcome. We trust that due process will be followed. The people expect their mandate to be respected without delay.”
The group reiterated that the result of the primary had been declared and urged the APC to honor the process by issuing the Certificate of Return to Senator Karimi without further delay.
