ABUJA — Political leaders from Kutama Ward in Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State have reaffirmed their unwavering support for the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, pledging continued loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its leadership.
The delegation, led by the APC Ward Chairman, Hon. Hassan Ibrahim Kutama, made the declaration during a meeting with Senator Barau in Abuja, where they highlighted their longstanding political relationship with the senator and commended his contributions to infrastructure development, education, transportation and youth empowerment.
The delegation said its political relationship with Senator Barau had endured for more than three decades, describing the longstanding alliance as a product of mutual trust, loyalty and shared political interests.
The leaders further assured the Deputy Senate President that the 27 polling units in Kutama Ward remained firmly committed to the APC, pledging what they described as 100 per cent support for the party.
They said their renewed commitment was informed by their confidence in Senator Barau’s leadership and their appreciation of his efforts to promote development across Kano State, particularly in Kano North Senatorial District.
The delegation also praised the senator’s interventions in the education sector, road infrastructure, transportation and youth development, noting that sustained investment in these areas was essential to improving living standards and creating opportunities for young people.
According to the political leaders, their visit was an opportunity to strengthen their existing relationship with Senator Barau, reaffirm their commitment to the APC and discuss issues affecting their ward and the wider Gwarzo community.
The meeting was attended by former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dr. Faruq M. Lawan, who represented Shanono and Bagwai Federal Constituency, as well as Hon. Yusuf A. Yusuf Tabuka.
The presence of the political stakeholders underscored the importance of grassroots engagement and consultations between elected leaders and party structures in sustaining political relationships and addressing the concerns of constituents.
Kutama Ward’s declaration also highlights the significance of ward-level political organisations in Kano State, where local party structures, community leaders and polling-unit networks play important roles in political mobilisation and electoral participation.
As political activities gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, such engagements are expected to remain an important feature of party consultations, with political leaders seeking to consolidate their support bases and strengthen relationships with stakeholders across their constituencies.
For Senator Barau, the visit provided another opportunity to engage with APC leaders from Gwarzo and reinforce his relationship with grassroots political actors who say they have supported him over several decades.
The Kutama delegation’s pledge reflects its stated determination to maintain its alliance with the Deputy Senate President and continue working towards the political and organisational objectives of the APC in Kano State.
