Kwara: Female Final Year Student Killed, Dismembered In Ilorin

A horrific crime has shaken the city of Ilorin, Kwara State, after a final year student of the Kwara State College of Education, Lawal Hafsoh Yetunde, was found murdered and dismembered.

According to reports, Yetunde attended a naming ceremony on Monday, February 10, 2025, where she received a call from a friend. She stepped out to answer the call and was never seen again.

Her parents reported her missing at the Oja Oba Police Station in Ilorin the following day. The police used her phone number to track her last call, which led them to a suspect living in the Offa garage district area of Ilorin.

Initially, the suspect denied knowledge of Yetunde’s whereabouts. However, after a search of his house, he confessed that Yetunde had died from an asthma attack after he called her to come over. Further investigation revealed that Yetunde’s body had been dismembered and hidden in a bowl, along with the equipment used to dismember her.

The suspect, reportedly the son of a well-known cleric from Isalekoto, Ilorin, is currently being held at the Kwara State Police Headquarters. Evidence found in his house suggests that this may not be his first offense, as a table in his room appeared to be equipped with tools used to dismember bodies.

The Kwara State Police Command is commended for their excellent work in solving this case. As the investigation continues, more information will be made available, including pictorial and video evidence.
