Late Chief Dr. E.K. Clark Made History in Nigeria,” Says Comrade Mike JK Tiemo,

Comrade Mike JK Tiemo, President of the Peace Development Security and Humanitarian Rights Association of Niger Deltans, has described the iconic leader late Chief Dr. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, as a Who Nigeria,” hailing his lifelong dedication to justice, equity, and the unity of the nation.

Speaking to journalists, in a heart felt tribute ,Comrade Tiemo noted that Chief Dr. E.K. Clark was more than a political figure—he was a guiding light, a father to the Niger Delta, a mentor and a statesman whose influence transcended regional and ethnic lines.

“Chief Clark was the conscience of Nigeria. He fearlessly spoke truth to power and remained unwavering in his advocacy for the rights of the Niger Delta people and the greater good of the nation. He was a bridge-builder, a nationalist, and a pillar of wisdom whose counsel shaped policies and decisions at the highest levels,” Tiemo remarked.

Chief Dr. Clark, a former Federal Commissioner for Information and a revered Ijaw leader, was known for his relentless activism for resource control, good governance, and the empowerment of marginalized communities. His contributions to Nigeria’s democratic development and his unwavering commitment to social justice earned him national and international recognition.

Tiemo recalled how Chief Clark stood firm in defense of Nigeria’s unity, tirelessly advocating for fairness in the country’s political and economic structures. “His voice was one of courage. Even in his later years, he remained active in national discourse, calling for equity and development in the Niger Delta and beyond,” he added.

He will be remembered as a man who listened to the youths and empired them, thus l call on Niger Delta people to emulate the fatherly character of Pa Clark and unite more and more in his memories.

The passing of the elder statesman marks the end of an era, leaving a legacy of service, wisdom, and patriotism that will inspire generations to come. Comrade Tiemo called on the Federal Government to immortalize Chief Clark, stating that his impact on Nigeria’s political and socio-economic landscape deserves enduring recognition.

“Nigeria has lost a father figure, but his teachings, his vision, and his struggles will live on. Let us all uphold his ideals and continue his fight for justice, fairness, and national unity,” he concluded.
