Late Madam Florence Awoniyi lived selfless life, Nigerians mourn as Sen. Dino, Hon. TJ Yusuf, others attend wake Keep service.

Prominent Nigerians cutting across all works of life said the Late Madam Florence Awoniyi lived an extraordinary and a selfless life while on earth and left a lesson behind for all Nigerians to follow.

Late Madam Florence Awoniyi, was wife of Late Sunday Olunruduro Awoniyi, the Aro of Mopa, Former Chairman, Arewa Consultative Forum, Foundation Member of the Peoples Democratic Party, whose death occurred on 8th May 2023 at the Evercare Hospital, Lekki, Lagos, after a brief illness.

Late Madam Florence was born in Mopa, Mopamuro LGA on the 31st August 1940 died at age 82.

Speaking at the wake keeping service held in honour of Late Madam Florence, held at the residence of late Chief Awoniyi, Orimolade Road, Ileteju, Mopa, Mopamuro LGA, Kogi State, speakers after speakers said what deserved great attention was the way Late Madam Florence carried herself through life and the ‘high values she exemplified’ during her time on earth when it comes to love for Nigeria and humanity.

Speaking, Sen. Dino Melaye, the Kogi State Governorship Candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party, said the late Madam Florence had a genuine respect for the well-being of people and the nation, said she Late Madam Florence would not be forgotten in the sands of time and history.

“Her love and generosity, not just to her family but to all was felt by all. Her counsel that she provided always with unfailing humility and courteousness are unique virtues that underpinned her selflessness and love for mankind.

Also speaking, Shola Akanmode, Former Deputy Chief of Staff, office of the Vice President said, “ Madam Florence lived a life lesson for the nation that she left behind. Today, we stand in the light of this great woman. The inevitable transition of the people that we love gives us a sombre opportunity to look into the life that they lived, and in that light, checkmate our own lives,” Akanmode said.

In his remarks, Hon. TJ Yusuf, Member, Representing Kabba Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituency, described Late Madam Florence as a complete mother to all she came across, urged the family to take solace in her positive impacts while on earth.

Speaking, Arc. Yomi Awoniyi described the love of his mother as one that is unquantifiable to the country and humanity, said she will be greatly missed.

Dignitaries at the Wake Keeping include Kola Ologbondiyan, Richard Akanmode, Shola Oja, Barr. Henry Ojuola, Funsho Daniyan.

Also present were members of the political class, Barr. Bola Fabola, Hon. Eric Kiki, cutting across all the political divide, amongst others.

The funeral Service for the late Madam Florence Awoniyi continues tomorrow at First Baptist Church, Ileteju, Mopa, Mopamuro LGA, Kogi State. Interment follows immediately after funeral service.

Reception ceremony is expected to follow immediately after interment at the premises of Boja Industries, Limited, Arifun Industrial Estate, Mopa.
