LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE TINUBU’S FATE IN 2027 – Hajia Ina, NW-P-BAT Leader

After God Almighty, it is the Nigerian people who have the ultimate power to decide whether President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will continue in office beyond May 29, 2027.
The mandate of the Nigerian presidency belongs to the people. It does not belong to any individual, political clique or even political party. Neither the APC nor any other political party is powerful enough to extend the tenure of a president beyond the constitutionally stipulated period.

Only the Nigerian people, through their votes, can determine who leads Nigeria after May 29, 2027.
If Nigerians are satisfied with the performance of President Tinubu and wish him to continue, so be it. If they are dissatisfied, their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and their votes will speak accordingly. That is the essence of democracy.
We therefore find it unnecessary and unacceptable for anyone to look outside Nigeria for a foreign power to determine the political future of our country. Nigeria is not a colony of the United States of America, nor is it a banana republic whose president can be removed and replaced by a foreign government or its preferred candidate.
This is Nigeria—the giant of Africa—and a sovereign nation.
We respect the United States and other countries as international partners, but Nigeria’s political destiny must remain firmly in the hands of Nigerians.
TINUBU IS A POLITICIAN, NOT A SAINT
Let us be clear: we are not presenting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as an angel, nor are we claiming that he is unbeatable. He is a human being and, like every other human being, he has strengths, weaknesses, successes and shortcomings.
What matters is that Nigerians should be allowed to assess his record objectively and make their decision at the ballot box.
The opposition should therefore concentrate on presenting a credible alternative to Nigerians instead of relying on foreign intervention, speculation or attempts to discredit the legitimacy of Nigeria’s democratic process.
THE OPPOSITION MUST PUT ITS HOUSE IN ORDER
Our observation of the unfolding political situation is that the opposition remains deeply fragmented and has yet to demonstrate the level of unity, organization and national coordination required to seriously challenge an incumbent president.
A divided opposition is inevitably a weakened opposition.
The disagreements among supporters of the major opposition figures, particularly those associated with Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, demonstrate the enormous challenge confronting the opposition. In many instances, their supporters appear to be fighting one another more vigorously than they are presenting a convincing alternative to the Nigerian electorate.
Politics is ultimately a game of numbers, organization and broad-based support. A disorganized opposition will find it extremely difficult to defeat an incumbent with a nationwide political structure.
The opposition should therefore first purge itself of greed, distrust, personal ambition and internal rivalry. If the objective is genuinely to win the presidency, the leaders must demonstrate the capacity to unite, negotiate, sacrifice and build a formidable national coalition.
NATIONAL POLITICS REQUIRES NATIONAL REACH
The current political landscape suggests that President Tinubu has established a significant political presence across different parts of the country.
While opposition figures continue to consolidate their respective strongholds, President Tinubu’s political structure extends across the six geopolitical zones and enjoys the support of numerous political stakeholders, including serving governors and other elected officials.
The opposition should not underestimate the importance of this national reach.
Political victory at the presidential level requires more than making noise in one’s traditional stronghold. It requires a broad national coalition capable of winning votes across Nigeria.
The coming election will therefore provide the electorate with the opportunity to determine whether the opposition has successfully transformed its political aspirations into a credible national movement.
STOP WAITING FOR AMERICA
Those who are waiting for America to somehow bring down President Tinubu before they can achieve political victory may have to wait indefinitely.
Nigeria’s political destiny cannot be outsourced.
Claims that foreign governments possess secret information capable of determining the fate of Nigeria’s president should not become a substitute for political organization and electoral strategy.
If anyone believes that President Tinubu has violated Nigerian law, there are constitutional and legal institutions within Nigeria through which such matters can be properly addressed.
President Tinubu has participated in Nigeria’s democratic process for decades, including serving as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and as Governor of Lagos State for two terms before becoming President.
His mandate and tenure must therefore be addressed through the Nigerian Constitution, Nigerian institutions and, ultimately, the Nigerian electorate.
THE RECORD OF THE TINUBU ADMINISTRATION
President Tinubu’s administration has also implemented a number of major policies and initiatives which supporters believe deserve recognition and evaluation.
Among them are the Student Loan Scheme, designed to expand access to tertiary education; the removal of the petrol subsidy; reforms intended to strengthen fiscal capacity and increase allocations to subnational governments; efforts toward local government financial autonomy; infrastructure projects across the country; the establishment of the Ministry of Livestock Development; and the creation of the North Central Development Commission.
The administration has also continued investments in federal roads and other infrastructure, while implementing measures aimed at addressing insecurity and stabilizing the Nigerian economy.
The economy has faced serious challenges, and Nigerians continue to experience hardship. However, there are also signs of economic restructuring and recovery which deserve objective assessment rather than blanket condemnation.
For us, democracy means allowing Nigerians to consider both the achievements and shortcomings of the administration and make their judgment freely.
THE PEOPLE MUST HAVE THE FINAL WORD
The 2027 presidential election should not be a contest determined by foreign governments, social-media campaigns, political propaganda or the loudest political voices.
It must be a contest decided by the Nigerian people.
If Nigerians believe President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves another term, they will vote for him.
If they believe another candidate deserves their mandate, they will vote accordingly.
That is democracy.
Therefore, instead of seeking external intervention, opposition politicians should return to the people, present their programmes, build their structures, unite their supporters and convince Nigerians why they deserve their votes.
For President Tinubu and his supporters, the responsibility is equally clear: continue to engage the people, deliver on promises, acknowledge shortcomings and earn the confidence of Nigerians.
At the end of the day, no politician—not Tinubu, not Atiku, not Obi, not any party leader—is greater than the Nigerian electorate.
The people own the mandate.
The people will cast the votes.
And the people will decide Nigeria’s next president.
**Let the people speak.
Let the PVCs decide.
Let democracy prevail.**
