MEET DR. PHILIPS SALAWU, THE CONSENSUS CANDIDATE OF NORTH CENTRAL PDP FOR PDP NATIONAL CHAIRMANSHIP SEAT

DR. PHILIPS OMEIZA SALAWU has 3–point agenda for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with which he intends to reposition the party. The 3-point agenda is known as the 3-R which are:

– RECONCILIATION: Dr. Philips Salawu will be fair to all members and supporters of the party, in a bid to establish the much-needed unity within the party.

– RESTRUCTURING: Dr. Philips Salawu, a former Deputy Governor from Kogi State who played a crucial role in the positive restructuring of Kogi State during the era of former Governor Ibrahim Idris, intends to replicate his leadership experience in restructuring the PDP to make the party be at par with present-day realities, to be able to respond appropriately to national and party issues that be at stake from time to time.

– RESTORATION: Dr. Philips Salawu intends to restore the glory of PDP in the Power Dynamics of the Nigerian State, such that the PDP will become the only alternative to the ruling party, henceforth. This he intends to achieve by ensuring the PDP rises the occasion from time to time to keep the ruling party on its toes via fast and swift and Nigeria-first and Nigerians-first mode of opposition politics in terms of the ruling party.

DR. PHILLIPS SALAWU is highly equipped with the following instruments that will enable him lead the National Working Committee to carry out the above 3–point agenda:

• CAPACITY: Dr. Philips Salawu has adequate knowledge of the Nigerian political environment and its geo-political complexities as he has been in politics since 1998 and he is one of the founding members of the PDP.

• EXPERIENCE: Dr. Philips Salawu has been at the party’s National Secretariat from Day One in October 1998 when he held the sensitive portfolio of National Director of Finance. He knows the history of the party from the onset to date. He knows the problems with the party, he is experienced enough about the party, he will re-engineer the party to glory.

• INTEGRITY: The historical records of Dr. Philips Salawu both in the private sector and in the public sector and at the Party’s Headquarters are all in public domain and are a testament of his integrity. Not once he has ever been found wanting for any crime at all. He is Mr. Integrity himself.

• STAKE IN THE PARTY: Right from when the PDP was being formed, Dr. Philips Salawu has been offering himself in passionate service of the party. He has offered his intellectual, technical and material resources for the foundation and consolidation of the party’s control of national political power from 1999 to 2015. Even in opposition, Dr. Philips Salawu has been propagating the values and virtues of the PDP and why PDP must return to power urgently to rescue Nigeria and Nigerians from further national backslide that the APC has put the country and Nigerians on since 2015.

• ABILITY TO MANAGE CRISIS: Dr. Philips Salawu is a Chartered Mediator and a Chartered Conciliator. He is a listener, a consensus-builder and a bridge-builder. He will use his professional skills and his passion for the party to manage the party’s numerous crises where they be at a time in any part of the country.

• RESPECT FOR THE PARTY’S CONSTITUTION: As a lawyer, Dr. Philips Salawu will respect the party’s constitution. He will at all times insist on the supremacy of the party over individual or group interest, regardless of who is involved.

• ABILITY TO ENFORCE PARTY DISCIPLINE: Dr. Philips Salawu is a highly disciplined person. He will be courageous, firm but fair in discharging his onerous responsibilities as party national chairman, even to be daring enough to enforce party discipline as enshrined in the party’s constitution.

• FEAR OF GOD: Dr. Philips Salawu has led with the fear of God and he has lived with the fear of God, all his life both in private life and in public office and in terms of party affairs. He is a God-fearing man that will ensure fairness, equity and justice to all and sundry, in the party, as national chairman of the party.
