Melaye’s Kabba Rally: A show of imminent Failure Ahead and Shameful outing of a Senator -APC

By Sunday Ajayi – Kabba, August 11, 2023

–The recent rally and walk organized by Senator Dino Melaye, the gubernatorial candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming Kogi governorship election on November 11, has been criticized for its limited attendance and perceived failure to capture public support despite being his immediate Constituency where he has been a Member of House of Representatives and Senator.

Dino and the PDP should reflect upon the outcome of the event, where the participants were so few that their numbers could be counted with ease and majorly imported thugs from outside Okunland.

In an official statement released by the Kabba/Bunu APC for Ododo, it is conveyed that the youth and the respected citizens of Kogi State have conveyed their lack of endorsement by showing minimal participation at the rally. The statement suggests that this turnout serves as an indication that Senator Dino Melaye may encounter challenges in the upcoming election. The obvious absence of key PDP stakeholders, leaders and party Executive is an undeniable indication that Melaye has been abandoned to his fate.

The group says the decamping of all major stakeholders of PDP to APC and the silence of the remaining leaders in PDP shows that Melaye is a very bad market to sell. They said Okunland has shown in unequivocal terms that they stand firmly behind Usman Ododo, the governorship candidate representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), asserting that he is well-positioned to secure a significant victory over Senator Dino Melaye, both in Kabba and across the entire Okun land. This belief is grounded in their confidence in Ododo’s ability to genuinely connect with local concerns and effectively address them.

Additionally, the statement characterizes Senator Dino Melaye’s participation in the Kabba rally as a “show of shame” for him, implying that the event did not resonate well with public sentiment and has led to embarrassment for his party. The group says it was such a shame that Dino Melaiye and his Media handlers find it difficult to show videos of the embarrassing rally apart from short minutes video circulating with unknown faces and rented Okada riders

As the Kogi election date approaches, the Kabba/Bunu APC for Ododo Campaign Council calls upon the people of Kogi to unite in their support for Usman Ododo, as they believe his leadership holds the potential to bring about positive changes for the state.
